I haven't written a diary in awhile, but I felt the time was right to say something I think should have been said long ago. I've tried to bring it up in discussions but get simply troll rated to oblivion.
Obama has sold out his progressive supporters.
I have been accused many times on MYDD of being a Republican shill, a paid operative sent here to sow discontent amongst the users of this website. I have answered back that no, I am a democrat, I am with you one hundred percent, you can count on me.
But I was lying.
The whole time I was lying. And I think it's high time that I came clean.
I am NOT a Democrat.
There, I've said it, its out.
It's almost a relief, really. Fat Republican paychecks notwithstanding, it's been a hard few months for me and my compadres. I've had to constantly lie, double think and deceive.
Yes, I am NOT a Democrat.
If you like this diary, please recommend.
Thanks!

A recent diary asked the question "Is Obama A Bad Christian?" referring to the brouhaha surrounding Obama's comments this week. Here is a part of his comments...
"""...whose Christianity would we teach in the schools? Would we go with James Dobson's, or Al Sharpton's? Which passages of Scripture should guide our public policy? Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is ok and that eating shellfish is abomination? How about Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith? Or should we just stick to the Sermon on the Mount - a passage that is so radical that it's doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application?"""
This, however, has nothing to do with Obama being a "bad Christian", this goes to the question of whether or not he is a Christian at all.
Obama made the most common error that non-Christians make, treating Old Testament (i.e. Jewish) law as if it were Christian doctrine. Asking us to choose between the two, between 'different Christianities'. If he was brought up as a Christian (as he claims) it is VERY UNLIKELY that he would make this mistake. Christians are taught the distinction between doctrine (new testament) and history (old testament) very early in their spiritual development, so this statement by Obama lends credence to those accusing him of being a Muslim (at least it will in the eyes of most Christian voters).
They will ask "Is Obama a bad Christian? Or a good Muslim?"
Strangely enough, this mistake by Obama would lend credence to the position that he's not a Muslim, either, as Muslims know the difference between Jewish and Christian doctrine, as well (it's actually not rocket science). Only atheists seem to have a problem with this distinction.
But try telling that to a flyover-nation Indie voter.
No, my guess is that he's simply an atheist portraying himself as a Christian, which is the oldest trick in the political playbook. Otherwise he wouldn't have made such an asinine statement.
Politics of change my eye.
So Obama shows yet again his lack of knowledge. Yes, I stand by my opinion: Obama is an atheist trying to pass him self as a Christian in order to deflect the Muslim smears. Good luck with allllll that.

p.s. The funniest thing about this whole episode is watching many here trying to defend someone as being a 'Good Christian', as if you suddenly have respect for Christianity after decades of derisive slander.
Come on, admit it. You don't want Obama to be a Christian, nor do you believe he is. You want him to be like most of us, an atheist or agnostic with a heavy dose of skepticism for anyone who believes in the Man in the Moon.
The last thing we need is another bible thumper in the White House, right?
So stop defending him as a 'good Christian' when you know, or at least hope, that it's not true. It smacks of hypocrisy and desperation.
But make no mistake, this was a huge mistake on Obama's part. He has outed himself as a non-Christian with this ill-timed comment. Because he certainly doesn't seem to have the basic elementary knowledge that a few years in Sunday school would afford him.
With this obvious gaffe, the undecideds will now ask the question: "Is Obama an atheist or a Muslim?" It was bound to happen, things like that always do when one tries to be all things to all people.
But no matter the answer, it will not serve Obama well. And yes, I'm CONCERNED.
Heh.
There's a Rethug that need thrashing.

In light of the California ruling allowing the gay to be married legally, it's time to confront this question that we all knew was coming, although most of us ignored it.
Well, the time is now.
The point of this diary is to have a poll. The poll question asks if youre for full marriage equality or only gay marriage equality.
I'm trying to separate the activists from those who truly wish for FULL marriage equality for everyone (and I mean everyone, including the weirdly religious).
Vote honestly.
This has been a funny last two weeks, reading diaries where Obushma supporters are begging Hillary supporters to back their candidate.
After all the mudslinging, the sexism, the disenfranchisement, do any of you Obamatons actually think that this ruse will work?
Folks, I will not vote for McCain although Obama lied about his uncle being at Auschwitz.
I will not vote for McCain although Obama used sexism to paint Hillary as 'just another woman candidate'.
I will not vote for McCain although Obama goes to a racist church the spreads vile lies about white people.
I will not vote for McCain although Obama is tied to mobster Tony Rezko.
I will not vote for McCain although Obama is personal friends with a convicted terrorist bomber.
I will not vote for McCain although Obama threw his grandmother under the bus for political reasons.
I will not vote for McCain although Obama's wife has never been proud of this country.
I will not vote for McCain although Obama subscribes to the racist Black Liberation Theology.
I will not vote for McCain although Obama consistenly backtracks and lies about his previous positions.
I will not vote for McCain although Obama about his parents ties to Selma and the civil rights movement.
...
In fact, I will not vote for McCain at all.
But hear me, and hear me well, DNC.
COUNT ALL THE VOTES, OR DONT COUNT ON MINE.
You hear?
It's as simple as that. Count ALL the votes, and BEFORE the nomination is settled, or I'm quitting this election, and I will do my best to convince others to do the same.
If you refuse to count all the votes, then this is NOT the party I supported for decades.
You hear me, Dean?
You hear me, Obama?
Your republican tactics are going to backfire on you, starting right here, right now.
COUNT ALL THE VOTES OR DON'T COUNT ON MINE
It's as simple as that.
